It's as Chris has already replied - it's nothing elitist.
If you use WP, and you expect support, you should use the version which
is the most widely used.
As soon as there is mention anywhere that WP supports multibogging on
any level whatsoever, people will start using cvs code. And then,
because it may break, they will come along to the forums expecting a
fix, an apology and lots of fuss for them. It just is not going to
happen. The warnings attached to cvs should be bigger.
I really would not be bothered if an update wiped my database - others
would scream bloody murder from the rooftops, yet that sort of person is
still using cvs / nightlies.
Partly yes, it's the fault of people (like me) who post and say there
are no issues, but I have only ever done that when I know the only
solution to a forum issue is to upgrade.
The other thing to remember is that if the primary goal of whatever
follows 1.5 is multiblogging, then the audience for that - while large -
might be damn small when it comes to active users. If the primary
helpers in the forum have no interest in the multiblogging, and so don't
keep uptodate with the code, then there really will be no-one to help
out with any issues. No-one.
I genuinely don't care who uses cvs.
I do however mind a lot if any negative posts are made after that which
indicate that someone who blogs apparently /cannot read the warnings/.
