I think the gray is appropriate considering the color scheme of the
Admin pages (and of wordpress.org too, for that matter). How do you
mean about the widths, like one box with one border stretching across
each row? I'd prefer it like it is.

The TOC is Special:Allpages. It's just not possible to fit everything
on the Main Page; doing so would create a page so huge, with so much to
digest, that it would far negate any usability gained by reducing
everything to one click. And there _is_ an order of importance to the
articles: those that are very popular or frequently read are more
important than those with very specific answers to questions only a few
people ever ask. There is always an order of precedence.

I think this discussion was before my time, but I can see that there is
still active development on the Template Tags sub-pages. I don't see
anything wrong with the sub-page structure being used there.

I think attempting to change the public's definition of the word
"hacker" is an exercise in futility, as a definition is already very
firmly implanted in the mind of everyone, whether correct or not. But,
like most other OSS projects, enough of our audience is probably
cognizant of the "real" definition that it would be easy enough to use
in our case, so I have no problem with it.

Isn't it sweet? I second this. (smile)
