Hi all,
I have joined this list, though I am NOT a developer or programmer. My
main interest is in the i18n & l10n.
As I stated in my very first post, I am a linguist and I can bring
some insight about the translators' viewpoint. FYI: yes, I already did
some script translations, e.g. a CMS.
This week I am a little bit busy (filing tax return, lot of wasted
time... LOL), but after that I'll catch up. I really find this
software very, very good and "elegant" (whether or not this is the
right word:), and I will try to do my best in helping with the i18n &
l10n. Despite the general belief a good and successful i18n&l10n
project depends very much on the developers' approach, not only on the
skills of the translators.
If you, guys, don't find it boring I'll elaborate on that later.
Oh, the intro: my real name is Istvan Horvath, but let's stick to
Moshu, everybody knows me like that. I am a Transylvanian living in
Canada; can speak, read, write in English, Hungarian, Romanian and
Russian, but above all I have studied linguistics in Europe and
Canada; worked (among others) as an interpreter and/or translator for
years with all the possible combinations of the languages above.
Recently moved from Ontario to Winnipeg, Manitoba... and looking for a
job.
Quite dumb in PHP, not so bad in HTML and CSS.
Cheers,
Moshu
